Palace On Wheels

Agra Fort - This fort includes a place for a marble swing, a garden once tented and used to grow wine grapes and a royal prison cell with a view of the Taj Mahal. Construction of the fort was from 1156 to 1605.  The many pillared Hall of Public Audience or 'Diwan-i-Am' was built by Shah Jahan in 1628.  The emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, was imprisoned by his 3rd son Aurangzeb in this fort where he had a view of the famous mausoleum he had constructed for his favorite queen.
