Palace On Wheels

Amber Palace - Gardens and Elephant Rides - This is a classic romantic Rajasthan fort-palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by his descendant Jai Singh I. Its stronghold exterior belies an inner paradise abounding in a beautiful blend of Mughal and Hindu styles.  In front is a formal garden constructed in the Maota Lake. You reach the fort through snaking pathways on elephant back.
