Thailand • Songkran or New Year Water Festival on Khao San Road
We went where the locals go to start off the Thai new year.  This holiday in the heat of the
Thai summer is celebrated by throwing water at one another and gently smearing each other
with "white water", a harmless mixture of baby powder and water.  We had a blast!
Our cheeks hurt from smiling.

Sawas Dee Phi Mai ("Swah-Dee-Pee-My")!  Happy New Year ("Ha-pee Nu Yee-ur")!

Into the fray to get out of the district...time for
lunch down the street and down an alley.
